Because of the short-term storage period you can try out the tasty and healthy sapodilla only in tropical countries — do not miss this chance!
Sapodilla or Lamuts — is a sweet tropical fruit, brown on the outside and inside. Flesh is slightly fibrous and grainy, and the taste is very sweet and has a subtle pleasant aroma. You should eat this fruit with a spoon, cutting the fruit into two halves, or peeling and cutting it into pieces — in both cases, be sure to remove the seeds, so as not to choke.
Choosing a ripe sapodilla, you need to touch it — it should be moderately soft, with no too hard areas, dents, and cracks. The fruit can be stored for a very short period, but it can have a wonderful jam made of it, though many nutrients contains in sapodilla are lost in this case — vitamins A and B, glucose, fructose and antioxidants, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium and potassium.
the cost is seasonal, ranges from 40 Baht per kilogram
