How to see a mudskipper in Phuket
The mudskipper is a half-fish half-reptile, which slowed down in evolution. It has powerful pectoral and caudal fins, with the help of which it crawls ashore, jumps and even climbs trees. It is the only blinking fish on Earth. Its eyes are able to move independently of each other. In addition, it has a keen ear. If you want to see a fish at short distance, sneak up quietly.

How to do?

1. The mudskippers are found on uliginous shores of Phuket among mangroves. One of such places is Sirinath National Park in the north-western part of the island near the international airport (30 kilometers from Phuket Town).

2. Here the fish dig holes and fill them with air - inhale as much as possible outside in order to exhale inside. Move carefully not to damage their shelters in the silt. It is better not to enter their territory, but observe them from the sidelines - males of the mudskipper selflessly protect the nesting place.
