The main purpose of this organization is helping the picked up dogs, cats and puppies to socialize, that is learn to behave, trust people and feel comfortable on a leash. The majority of the shelter’s charges have never lived at anybody's home, so it is particularly hard for them to get used to their new home and the humans. This especially goes for the animals that have been maltreated by people. Besides, the shelter’s staff nurse dogs and restore them back to health – sometimes bringing them back from death’s door.

At Soi Dog volunteers are always welcome. The shelter’s management encourages people willing to help to come and stay for at least a month. This way volunteers will have enough time to warm up to the charges and watch them progress and become closer to people.

There are many options for helping our furry friends. The most obvious one, of course, is to come to the shelter as a volunteer and help looking after the animals, communicate with them, feed them and guide visitors around. Often volunteers take to their charges to the extent of bringing them back home as pets! You can also donate some money for building a dog clinic or supporting them, but the most interesting option is to book a pet online! It just takes a few moments: pick any of the charges whose photos, along with their names and ages, are listed on the website, then pay a monthly fee of $27. This way you can be sure that your pet will be well-fed, looked after and thriving!
