Elegant palace of glass, right in the middle of the Retiro Park, has been a must visit place for travelers to Madrid for 2000 years.
Crystal Palace, Madrid
The Crystal Palace was built in 1887 to an exhibition of Philippine tropical plants. When the exhibition was over, this place was chosen by the nobility for holding social gatherings. The palace was surrounded by a lake with swans and cypress trees growing around it. The project architect Ricardo Velasquez Bosco was sure that in the future all houses will look like his Crystal Palace.

In the palace, as before, exhibitions are still held. The rest of the time, you can relax on the rocking chair under the glass dome, feed the swans and make a lot of vivid photos.
