Pecorino, not Parmesan, is the original ingredient of the most famous dishes of Italian cuisine. One of the oldest cheeses, which the Roman legionaries ate in the campaigns, is still made according to 2000 years old recipe.

In Italy it's used not only as a food: in the game named Ruzzola participants are competing in throwing the cheese heads binded by tape. The one who throws the cheese further than the others get the cheese as a prize!
