In the Palazzo Vecchio, on the first floor, between the Apartments of Eleanor and the Halls of Priors is the death mask of Dante.

Dante was exiled from Florence, and so was unable to return to his hometown. In memory of the great compatriot city dwellers were placed in the main building of Florence his death mask, which is you can see.
