How to watch the Historical Regatta in Venice
Historical «Regatta Storico» is divided into two components: a parade of ornamented gondolas and competition of Venetian boats. All competitions are divided into groups, depending on gender, age of participants and types of boats.

Boats start at the bay of San Marco. The route ends at the regatta Ka` Foscari.

The first four crews of each category receive a cash prize and a banner, the color of which varies depending on the occupied space.

Historical Regatta is an event that will remain forever in your memory as one of the most vibrant and exciting.

How to do?

1. Walk through the city in two hours prior the parade and take a convenient place in the cafe, or directly on the waterfront.
2. It is best to watch the regatta from the quays of the Grand Canal, on the steps of the Salute and on quay tragetto San Maurizio.
3. Or buy a ticket at the St Mark's Square, VIP-place costs about € 50.

When to do?

Regatta Storico is held annually on the Grand Canal on the first Sunday of September.
