How to try saltimbocca in Rome
People began preparing saltimbocca in Rome. It is a thin escalope of veal with a slice of prosciutto and sage. In many places in Rome you can replace veal by pork or chicken.

A version of this dish is saltimbocca alla Romana which cooked in dry white wine, and the meat becomes more tender and tastier.

Saltimbocca translates as "Jump in the mouth" - and this is the perfect name for it! This gentle meat dish melts in the mouth, and after which you want to lick your fingers.
