The festival starts on St. Mark's Square. The program includes a carnival, street theater performances, water parade on the Grand Canal, and beauty pageants, where the city will choose the most beautiful girl in the town.

You can join the carnival at any time. The carnival in Venice is a bright event you will never forget and will talk about it to all your friends and acquaintances for a long time.

How much?

participation is free, you just need to buy a mask (from €5). You can buy a mask in any shop in Venice. Even cheap masks for €5 can be unusual ;-)

Tips and hints

you can win the costume contest, if you want. Costumes are divided into historical and specific. You can dress up like the king, or hero from comics — the main thing that it must be unusual, conspicuous and consistent costume.
