How to go surfing in Bali
Experienced surfers conquer waves of Eco Beach, Pererenan Beach and Brava Beach. Newcomers get skilled on Old Man and Batu Bolong beaches.

Surfing, Bali

How to do?

1. On Canggu coast - from Brava Beach to Pererenan Beach there are a lot of spots for skilled surfers as well as for newcomers. The latter had better choose sand bottom cause surfing in low water with coral bottom may be dangerous. You can rent a board and all tackle on the coast at rent spots (here you can also hire an instructor).

2. Before going to the beach check out tide in and out forecast (in Bali they alternate each other every 6 hours) in free brochure in any surf camp or on the internet. When the tide is in the waves on Canggu beaches reach 2 meters. Lower tides up to one meter are on Kuta Beach.

Where to do?

How much?

Group surfing class is about $45, private - $70-80.
Board rent - $15 per hour.

Tips and hints

• take sunscreen with maximum SPF and lycra T-shirt.
• from July till September you'll need a light neoprene diving suite.

When the sun is rising the fog is thickening at the bottom of the volcano hill; and at its top you can see Mount Agung.
