It is not just a drink, for Bulgarians it is a cultural institution, a traditional drink that is normal to drink at any time of the day or night.

Rakia is a drink reminiscent to brandy, although in fact it is rather tastes like vodka on fruits. As a rule, the strength of the drink is 40 °, but if it is cooked at home, then the strength exceeds to 60 °. This drink has different names depending on what its main ingredient is. From the plums you get slivovitz, from grapes - gruzovitsa, from pears - krushev, from apples - apples and of course kaisiev from apricots, it is considered the most delicious and popular among the local population. Sometimes you can find a drink from several fruits at once or even with addition of honey, anise or nuts.
How to do?
1. Go to the nearest bar or cafe. In small bars, you most likely will be poured with a home-made drink, but if not, it's okay, the factory one is not inferior to it.
