In addition to the old railway from Cairns to Kuranda and back, you can try a little bit more extreme transport – the world's longest cableway called Skyrail Rainforest.
Its length is over seven kilometers and it is stretched above the World Heritage landmark – the famous National Park Barron Gorge tropical forest.
Beside 411 common cabins, the cableway has eleven Diamond View cabins with a transparent floor. Those can accommodate up to six passengers. You are guaranteed to experience an adrenaline rush from viewing breathtaking panoramic views opening below!
For an hour and a half, you will be observing an incredible scenery, where the rainforest is replaced by majestic mountains with huge canyons and picturesque waterfalls. At a distance you will even be able to see the vast expanses of the Coral Sea.
There are two stops along the way of Rainforest Skyrail. They give you a time to walk and enjoy the views from the wooden observation platforms set in the midst of the rainforest.
