How to take a journey through the tropical forest on an old-fashioned train in Cairns
The travel on the historic train through the rainforest from Cairns to the small town of Kuranda is the second most popular activity among travelers after visiting the Great Barrier Reef.

Kuranda Scenic Railway is an old-fashioned transport, more than 100 years old, and an unusual attraction at the same time.

A one-way trip by train will take about two hours. Travelers are conveniently located in the wagons of Heritage Class, Gold Class or Royale Class. Kuranda Scenic Railway Map will show you the places of interest and provide a brief information about them.

You will have an amazing ride through the lush thicket of the emerald rainforest, past the vast cane plantations and the majestic mountains with stunning waterfalls. On your way, there will be many tunnels, an old bridge, and scenic views of the Coral Sea.

The train from Cairns to Kuranda departs daily (except Christmas time) at 8:30 am and 9:30 am. The return journey starts at 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

Bright mantle and impressive size – look out for a bright tridacna on the sea bottom. It's not as difficult as it may seem at first glance.

Grab your scuba gear and swim to the coral islands of the reef. Thousands of sea creatures are there for you to admire.
