Zurich airport has got observation decks just right at the takeoff runway.
How to see plane landing close up in Zurich
In Zurich airport you won't get bored waiting for your flight - amusement park around the takeoff field will make your waiting time pass quickly.

How to do?

1. On the territory of the airport there are two specially equipped decks where you can watch planes take off and land. Deck B is opened all round the year, at check-in desk №2 you'll find the gate to them. There is a multimedia binocular through which you can even see dashboard indicators in the cockpit.

Here you'll also find "airport in miniature" with plane simulators and playground for children.

2. Far deck E is placed on the other side of takeoff runway and open only from April till October - courtesy shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes from 12:15 till 16:15 on Wednesday at weekends and holidays.

3. In summer you can rent a bike or roller skates and watch planes from any point of taking-off field.

When to do?

Observation deck B is opened every day from March, 26 till October, 28 (9:00 - 19:00), from October, 29 till March, 24 (10:00 - 17:00).

You can buy tickets at the airport ticket desk at check-in desk №2 from Monday till Friday from 8:00 till 16:30 (lunch break - from 12:00 till 13:00).

How much?

Deck B, E entry ticket for adults is 5 francs, for 10-16-year-old children - 2 frans, for children under 10 years old - free.

Rental of a bike with a helmet for half-day (up to 4 hours) - 20 francs, for the whole day - 35 francs. Rental of roller-skates with a helmet for half-day (up to 4 hours) - 15 francs, for the whole day - 20 francs.

Tips and hints

• At the deck B gate you'll be metal detector checked - be ready to show your personal belongings.
• Animals are not allowed.
• You can take 60 x 40 x 20-centimeter carry-on luggage only.
• You are not allowed to smoke on the deck.
