Copacabana is a synonym for an all-year-round beach holiday in any of the luxurious penthouses, welcoming coastal hotels and irresistible casinos located on the splendid seafront.

Copacabana is the principal and the most famous beach in Brazil, stretching for four kilometers. Every day, thousands of people come to the beach.

Here, you can sunbathe, practice water sports, such as surfing and swimming. Please note that you should be very cautious about swimming at Copacabana, as the strong current creates high waves and not everyone can easily cope with them.

Copacabana gained its popularity in the ‘50s, when musicians, artists, writers, or the so-called "cream of society", started buying real estate in the vicinity of the beach. The story goes that the girls in bikini for the first time appeared in public here, at Copacabana. The public was totally delighted and welcomed split swimsuits with a great enthusiasm.

During the New Year celebrations, the beach comes alive with lights and sparkles of fireworks. More than three million people flood the seafront and the adjacent streets to celebrate the favorite holiday.
